alright. i know you can't really see what that is. it is the air conditioner. i live on the first floor of the dorm/apartment/thing and it goes off all the time. it's unreasonably loud. a combination of this and thinking too much while laying in bed attempting to sleep makes some nights horrible. it kills the whole vibe of silence, which i rarely get. it's going off now! one of these days i'm just going to beat it with a bat. until then i can pretend to be a hedonist in reality.
